[DRUG NAME]Generic name: Cefixime Tablets
[INDICATIONS]Cefixime is usually active against the following organisms: STREP (enterococci excluded), pneumonococcus, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Branhamella catarrhalis, Escherichia, Klebsiella, Serratia, Proteus, Bacillus influenzae. So it is indicated for the treatment for the following infectious diseases caused by the above bacteria:
1. bronchitis, bronchiectasis (during infection), secondary infections to chronic respiratory infectious diseases, pneumonia;
2. nephropyelitis, cystitis, pseudogonorrhea;
3. cholecystitis, cholangetis;
4. scarlet fever;
5. otitis media, sinusitis.
[DOSAGE AND ADIMINISTRATION]
1. For adults and children weighing over 30 kgs: 50-100mg (valence) (1/2~1tablet each time)to be taken orally twice daily. In addition, the dosage can be modified properly according to age, body weight, and symptoms. For severe cases, 200mg(valence) (2 tablet every time)to be taken twice daily.
2. For infants: 1. 5-3mg(valence)/kg(weight)to be taken orally twice daily. Besides, the dosage can be altered properly according to symptoms. For severe cases, 6mg(valence)/kg(weight)twice daily.
3. For children: Cefixime is administered orally twice daily at the following doses: 1/7~1/5 tablet for 6 months-1 years old; 1/5~1/4 tablet for 1-2 years old; 1/4~1/3 tablet for 2-4 years old; 1/3~2/5 tablet for 4-6 years old; 2/5~1/2 tablet for 6-9 years old; 1/2~2/3 tablet for 9-14 years old; 2/3~1 tablet for 14-18 years old.
[INGREDIENTS]The main composition is cefixime, whose chemical name is:
(6R, 7R)-7-[(Z)-2-(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)-2-(carboxymethoxyimino)acetylmino]-3-ethylene-8-oxo-5-thia-1-axabicyclo[4. 2. 0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid tridydrate.
[DESCRIPTION white or off-white tablets.
[SPECIFICATION]50mg
[STORAGE]Keep tightly closed and store in a dry place. Protect from direct light.
[PACKAGE]6 or 12 tablets * 1 or 2 blisters/carton in PVC/aluminium blister packaging.
